Tracing back his career in designing for the web for the past 15 years, Fahri Özkaramanlı will take you to a journey through technologies and design trends in web design and will try to analyze how they affected typography on the web.
Born in 1980 in Cyprus, Fahri Özkaramanlı moved to Istanbul to study Physics Engineering but fell for design instead. He studied undergraduate and graduate degrees in Visual Communication Design at İstanbul Bilgi University where he also taught web design and various other courses for 7 years. Alongside teaching, he also managed a freelance career designing websites and identities for his friends and their friends.
Focusing on detecting and analyzing patterns in creative workflows, he created http://wordmark.it and http://cedvel.com to streamline font selection and grid design practices.
Being fascinated by the relationship between people and technology he co-founded http://parasut.com, a design first financial management application in pursuit of helping Turkish SMEs leverage technology to better understand and control their financial condition.
