Introduction to Designing Display Type

In this workshop you will get to know how to design display type.
Your own font project will be started by being guided through all the
required steps. Bring pens, markers and paper.

Requirements: Laptop with Illustrator CS1 and higher.
Type design experience not necessary.

 

About Peter Brugger

Peter Brugger is a graphic and type designer currently living in Istanbul, Turkey. He served an apprenticeship at a printer. He studied Visual Communications at the Basel School of Design Switzerland, at Pforzheim University - School of Design Germany and at the Nova Scotia College of Arts and Design Halifax, Canada. He designed the type families Gringo and Matryoshka, which are licenced to the font label VolcanoType. Peter Brugger received numerous awards and prizes. He taught typography and type design at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. Besides his design practise he gives lectures and workshops at design institutions.
