Laura Meseguer

On Process

June 9, Friday 10:00 – SALT Galata

My talk will start with my last and ongoing project: Qandus Latin, part of a family typeface that was initiated at Typographic Matchmaking in the Maghrib project for the Khatt Foundation. The specific goal of the collaboration was the research and development of tri-script font families (Arabic, Latin and Tifinagh) that could communicate harmoniously and facilitate a cultural trialogue in the region. Along this year it has been developed as a system and I will be sharing the process and results.

For a better understanding of those results and how I achieved them, I will give some insights on my methodology and background, showing also specific examples of my previous and current projects in lettering and type design..
