Gor Jihanian

Design space exploration

June 15, Saturday 16:30 – SALT Galata

An interactive presentation based on a series of typographic experiments exploring Variable Font design spaces through the use of physical controllers. The talk will highlight how the combination of two relatively new technologies – OpenType Font Variations and Web MIDI – allows for new means of interactivity, control, and expression. The experiments will showcase two different types of hardware, Korg nanoKontrol2 control surface and Leap Motion hand motion sensor, each producing contrasting interactive properties.
