November 2, Saturday 12:30 – Salt Galata
Astrid will share her experience of growing up in a printing press, surrounded by ink and paper, and how this led to an early fascination with letters and language. Just as writers transform abstract thoughts into words, designers use visual elements to craft meaning. Both disciplines turn complexity into clear, compelling narratives. Editing—often the most invisible skill—is also the most powerful. Her lifelong obsession with simplicity is reflected in her design approach: stripping away the unnecessary to reveal the essential. Through a series of projects, she will illustrate how the careful use of words and typography can create maximum impact with minimal means.
