ISType (Istanbul Type Seminars) was created by Onur Yazıcıgil and Alessandro Segalini in 2011. They conceived it in the summer of 2010 during a nice afternoon at the beach in Bodrum, Turkey. They are happy to see ISType enter its third year with the ongoing aim to provide students, professionals and enthusiasts an international gathering where ideas and inspiration can be shared and thrived.
We are very lucky to have a group of creative people whose never ending support helped us to realize ISType 2013 “Stroke”.
Fahri Özkaramanlı designed and built our website. We are grateful to his user-friendly and typographically harmonious design.
Onur Yazıcıgil designed the new visual identity for ISType 2013 Stroke. He is grateful to Tablet Gothic Wide ExtraBold for inspiring the uppercase S on this year’s identity.
Alessandro Segalini handlettered & digitized the logo of ISType which we have been happily using since the first event in 2011.
Emre Parlak created the motion graphics of ISType 2012. He’s currently creating a new teaser inspired by this year’s theme.
Stephanie Paine has been photogaphically documenting ISType ever since it began in 2011. We are happy to know she will be with us again photographing the third event.
Çağatay Alpay has video documented over 25 videos at ISType 2012. He also edited the videos into a short movie of ISType 2012 Transmit. We are thanking him and his Siamese cats, which let him produce such good videos.
Zeynep Nevin Yelçe has been translating our texts from English to Turkish and vice versa since the first ISType event in 2011. Her bilingual skills helped us reach our voice to broader audiences.
Gözde Oral and Esen Karol generously spent their time creating strategies for public relations and helped us spread the word.
José Scaglione of TypeTogether granted the typeface Athelas for use on the website and the printed materials.
